The Audience of a Digital Format,
by Hazel Hoyle

The world is changing.

Technology has a device in the hands of every person aged 9 through 79 and we as a people depend on our devices to check the time and weather, to communicate with friends and business associates via telephone, text messaging, email, or social media; we access the internet, play video games, fiddle with endlessly available app after app, we check how far it is to the moon, we Google answers for our crossword puzzles, we follow our devices one metre or three feet at a time toward the red/green dot leading our GPS to the address we are searching for; we use our devices to book  a flight to Toronto, New York, Spain or Africa; we pay our bills and do our banking; we dance to YouTube, we watch movies, we watch television, we  listen to our ever-growing digital music libraries and among many, many more things, we use our devices to read a book.

About Phoenix Star is available for electronic use on Kindle and whichever e-book medium you prefer... book cover About Phoenix Star But also in paperback for the people who, like myself, still enjoy the turning of a page: the portability of literature without a battery required, radiation, or the distractions from all those bleeping lights reminding us to check our email, text messages, voice mail, social media, etc, etc, etc...

With the quickly-changing and ever wanting something new, NOW! society we have become, a new format to enjoy storytellers’ crafts is in demand. The published version of feature-length screenplays which have not yet been produced is that new format (well, one of them!) and Oxygen Films Corp is pleased to offer this new format to people around the world who love to read - and who crave something new.

As a film producer, I receive queries from 100s of screenwriters every month. The industry is clearly ghosts of woodwards label inundated with scripts and many good ones are overlooked, passed and never read. Tens of thousands of writers have labored for months and years on a few or several screenplays which have never been produced, optioned or even read by a production company. Oxygen Films’ SCRIPTS IN PRINT™ series offers an opportunity for such writers to get their hard work out there to an audience with a different medium.

For technical reasons, with the electronic version of this book only, some of the “standard film production script formatting” had to be slightly altered.  But with both versions, electronic or paperback, whichever you have chosen, as you read through, you may just feel like making some popcorn and allowing the scenes to come alive in your mind as if you were sitting in a theatre.

One final preface, I should state about our first book, About Phoenix Star: this is a controversial story which may step on a few toes. There is absolutely no malice intended and if there is any resemblance to real people particularly Muslims, psychiatric ward workers, physicians, news reporters, celebrities who have ever been in the “negative spotlight” of a tabloid, etc.,  it is completely by coincidence. This story, plot and all the characters therein are purely fictitious creations of my vivid imagination.

That said, I do hope you will take the story with a grain of salt, a readiness to laugh and maybe cry; but most importantly, to enjoy. To purchase today, Click Here. Or visit: www.aboutphoenixstar.com
